The box is black, with a few white snowflakes falling in the background. The LEGO logo is in the upper left corner of the front of the box. This is the word LEGO in white letters, inside of a red square. The image on the front is of Santa’s post office. The post office is a flurry of activity! On the left, there is a red mailbox, next to a signpost with a number of signs showing where to find certain things at the North Pole! Santa’s elves are busy as can be! One rides a sleigh with letters on it. Another pushes a cart full of mail! A third uses a fishing pole to pull up a frozen letter! Another elf in a gold and green hot air balloon delivers more mail through a slide on the top of the post office! Santa oversees all this from the front door of the post office. The post office itself is a blue and brown building with snow-covered roofs and Christmas decorations. There is a fireplace with a chimney on one building.
The top of the box shows a life-sized image of the Santa Claus minifigure.
The back of the box shows a rear image of the post office, as well as five inset images, a dimensioned front view, and an image of a light brick. The back view shows what’s going on inside the post office! Santa has a small office to read mail. There is a system of chutes which allows the hot air balloon to drop mail off from the roof! The mail is then channeled down into a yellow and blue mail sorting machine! There is a small room at the top of the post office with a desk for Santa to write letters back to kids. This room even has its own mail chute! The inset images, clockwise from the top left, are an image of the hot air balloon showing transparent orange bricks representing flames from the burner and a crate of mail, Santa’s upstairs writing room, Santa reading mail in one of the rooms on the bottom floor, elves working the mail sorting machine and moving carts of mail, and elves relaxing with cups of cocoa after a long day sorting the mail! The dimensioned front view is a line drawing in white ink so it stands out against the black background. It shows that the model is 28 cm or 11 in. wide and 21 cm or 8 in. tall.
The build is 1440 pieces, and 335 building steps.
