The packaging captures the energetic atmosphere of a LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog battle. The front of the box shows Dr. Eggman piloting the large red, black, white, and dark gray Egg Crusher Mech as it advances across a bright mountainous landscape. The mech has a transparent orange cockpit dome, broad articulated legs, a large black claw on one arm, and a rotating launcher on the other. Knuckles rides his white, red, and green hoverboard in front of the mech, while yellow Gold Rings, brown boulders, and small terrain details surround the action. The background has a blue sky, white clouds, green hills, distant rocky mountains, and curved tracks that evoke the Sonic video games. In the top left corner, we have the classic LEGO logo, followed by the Sonic the Hedgehog logo. The front also displays the set’s age, number, name, and piece count. The left of the box continues the same colorful Sonic the Hedgehog scenery and branding, with a picture of Dr. Eggman and Knuckles. The back of the box shows another view of the confrontation between Knuckles and Dr. Eggman and highlights the set’s play features. Namely, it shows the mech bending and posing its articulated arms and legs, opening its transparent orange cockpit so Dr. Eggman can sit inside, spinning its large claw, and firing transparent orange studs from its rotating 6-stud launcher. It also shows Knuckles using the hoverboard, collecting the 3 Gold Rings and 2 Chaos Emeralds, and operating the catapult to launch the boulders toward the mech. In the top left corner, we have the LEGO logo, with the Sonic the Hedgehog logo to the right. The right side of the box has a warning in several different languages that states that the set contains small parts and is therefore not recommended for children younger than 3 years old. The top of the box has the LEGO and Sonic the Hedgehog logos, the figures included in this set (Knuckles and Dr. Eggman), as well as a picture of Knuckles’s minifigure at a 1:1 scale. The bottom of the box contains the barcode, set number, recycling information, and SEGA, Sonic the Hedgehog, and LEGO copyright and trademark details.
