Explore Captain Toad’s camp and hunt for hidden treasure with this fun-packed LEGO® Super Mario™ toy playset for kids (72040). A fantastic small gift for boys, girls and any fans aged 6 and up, the toy building set features a buildable tent with abonfire for Captain Toad, a collapsible bridge, hidden diamond accessories and a treasure chest. There are also 3 LEGO Super Mario figures – Captain Toad, a Goomba and a turnip – plus accessories including a buildable backpack, and pickax and pan accessories to inspire creative role play. Add a LEGO® Mario™, LEGO® Luigi™ or LEGO® Peach™ toy figure (from sets 71439, 71440, 71441 or 72043 – sold separately) for interactive play, including digital reactions when jumping on the tent’s Action Tag and defeating the Goomba.
The packaging captures the sense of a small LEGO Super Mario campsite adventure, with Captain Toad exploring a colorful rocky landscape full of hidden treasure and little play moments. The front of the box shows the finished camp scene arranged across bright green terrain, with the tan and brown tent on one side, the medium nougat bridge and raised platform on the other, and a small campfire placed near the middle. Captain Toad is shown wearing his red and white mushroom cap, backpack, and explorer accessories, standing near the tent as if ready to search for treasure. A Goomba and a turnip are also included in the scene, making the build feel like part of a Super Mario level. The background uses a cheerful outdoor setting with grass, trees, a blue sky, and soft clouds, making the camp feel open and playful. On the top left corner, we have the classic LEGO logo, followed by the Super Mario logo. Along the front, the set information is also visible, including its age rating, set number, name, and piece count. The front also highlights that the interactive figures of Mario, Luigi, or Peach can be used with the set (but they are sold separately). The left of the box continues the LEGO Super Mario visual style and mentions again the option to use the interactive Mario, Luigi, and Peach figures. The back of the box shows another view of the camp, now focusing more clearly on the play features. Namely, small inset images show Captain Toad relaxing in the tent, the hidden diamonds and treasure chest, and the collapsible bridge feature, where the bridge can drop so the Goomba falls from the rocky section. The back also shows how the set can be used with Mario, Luigi, or Peach interactive figures from other sets for digital reactions with the action tiles. On the top left corner, we have the LEGO logo again. The right side of the box has a warning in several different languages that states that the set contains small parts and is therefore not recommended for children younger than 3 years old. The top of the box has the classic LEGO logo, the set name in several languages, and a small lineup-style image showing the included LEGO Super Mario figures: Captain Toad, the Goomba, and the turnip, with an image of the turnip minifigure on a 1:1 scale. The bottom of the box is a tidy strip that contains the barcode, production information, recycling information, and the LEGO, Nintendo, and Super Mario copyright and trademark details
The build consists of 159 pieces in total, 3 minifigures, and is recommended for ages 6+. Once finished, you will have Toad’s Camp and a piece of terrain. The set consists of 4 numbered bags and 1 instruction booklet.
