Drive, drift, glide, launch shells and more with this LEGO® Super Mario™: Mario Kart™ toy building set for kids (72045). A fun birthday gift idea for boys, girls and any gamers aged 7 years old and up, the set features a Shy Guy figure and a brick-built recreation of a P-Wing with a shell-launching function, Standard Tires and a detachable Plane Glider. There is also a Banana element to throw at rival karts!

Slide the driver’s seat forward to fit LEGO® Mario™, LEGO® Luigi™ or LEGO® Peach™ toy figure (from sets 71439, 71440, 71441 or 72043 – sold separately) in the kart for interactive play, triggering Mario Kart sound and visual effects for race-starting, drifting, gliding and more. The packaging captures the speedy, colorful action of a Mario Kart race, with Shy Guy driving the P-Wing through a bright course scene filled with items and motion. The front of the box shows the completed white, red, black, yellow, and dark purple P-Wing kart angled as if it is racing forward, with Shy Guy seated in the cockpit and the detachable Plane Glider raised above the kart for flying action. The kart has a rounded white body with red accents, yellow wheels, black tires, a dark purple driver’s area, exhaust details at the back, and a shell launcher built into the front. The green shell, red shell, and yellow banana peel are arranged around the kart like Mario Kart items ready to be used during a race. The background shows a cheerful Mario Kart course with a blue sky, green hills, road markings, and racing scenery, making the P-Wing feel like it is speeding through an outdoor track rather than being shown as a static model. On the top left corner, we have the classic LEGO logo, followed by the Super Mario logo, and the Mario Kart branding nearby. Along the front, the set information is also visible, including the age rating, set number, and piece count. The box also highlights that interactive play is possible with the interactive figures of Mario, Luigi, or Peach, which are sold separately and are not included in the set. The left of the box continues the colorful LEGO Super Mario visual style, with branding elements and side-panel artwork connected to the Mario Kart theme, showing the P-Wing from another angle and keeping the same race-course energy as the front. The back of the box shows another view of the finished P-Wing and Shy Guy, now focusing more clearly on the play features. Namely, small inset images highlight the main functions, including placing Shy Guy in the cockpit, driving and drifting, attaching the glider for aerial action, launching the green and red shells from the front shooter, and using the sliding driver’s seat to fit an interactive Mario, Luigi, or Peach figure (from other sets for digital reactions). On the top left corner, we have the LEGO logo. The right side of the box has a warning in several different languages that states that the set contains small parts and it is therefore not recommended for children younger than 3 years old.
